What changed was the definition; trade secrets, internal workflows and the data their sensors generate turned out to be assets they already owned and could protect. Yuki credits the shift to conversations rather than paperwork: “we just maybe not realize it until we speak to someone like IAC, to different members.” Learning from other members did as much work as the formal material.

The outcome she names is not a filing. It is confidence: “we know what we own, we know what is protected, and how it’s protected.” That is the point of upskilling, IP as a decision tool the team can use rather than a task handed to a lawyer.
